Although working for yourself you will not be by yourself as NZ House Surveys provides full training in all aspects of the building inspection business, together with ongoing training, back up support and an annual conference.

Starting a new business, or taking over an existing one, both pose a unique set of challenges which candidates will need to be prepared to face. At NZ House Surveys we know the process can be fraught with pressure and anxiety, so we provide all our franchisees with continuing support. Our new franchisees receive the benefit of our comprehensive start up package which includes; initial training, startup kit and our unrivaled start up marketing package, as well as receiving access to proven operating systems and mentoring. Existing franchisees receive support second to none, with business development support, ongoing training and industry upskilling offered to all tenured franchisees.
The initial franchise term is 5 years, with existing franchisees having the right to renew at the end of the term.
We have part-time franchises available in some areas for $35,000+gst. Full-time franchises are available throughout New Zealand for $49,000+gst. Of course there are other costs involved in setting up and maintaining a business, but we’re happy to discuss these.
Over 65% of our enquiries come from our website, the balance of our clients come via leads which you will generate yourself, with the support of NZHS branded material and a national marketing campaign managed by Head Office. Successful candidates will need to be prepared to work hard and, at times, move outside their comfort zone to build a successful business.

Jeff Twigge (Founder) began doing builders reports for friends some years ago, and quickly realised that the inspection industry was unregulated. Unscrupulous estate agents had a vested interest to secure ‘soft’ inspections, so Jeff set about to provide independent reports with a strong emphasis on integrity. Having many years of experience and knowledge in the building industry, Jeff launched NZ House Surveys with the intention to supply thorough, honest and quality reporting services, giving clients a clear and concise overview of the property in question. In the years since the business began it has moved from strength to strength, and in 2016 began offering others the opportunity to join the team.
Yes, we require all our inspectors to have their own vehicle. Preferably an SUV type or similar, and less than 10 years new. You will also need to be prepared to have your vehicle completely sign written in our brand colors with our company logo. Our vehicles play an important part in our goal to becoming NZ’s number one recognised and trusted home inspection company, so being noticed is important to us! You can choose to have your vehicle vinyl wrapped, rather than sign written, which is completely removable meaning when it comes time to upgrade your vehicle you can do so easily.
